UFC goes back to the Apex before Boston
We have a quiet card this week in terms of star power, but there are some decent fights to keep an eye on.
We see Terrence Mckinney make a quick turnaround and take on Mike Breeden. Can Mckinney come back from two straight losses, or have people figured him out?
Chris Daukaus comes down from heavyweight to test the waters at light heavy, as he’s seen three losses in a row against the big boys after starting his promotional tenure at 4-0.
And in the main event, we have RDA taking on Vincente Luque in Luque’s first fight back after suffering a traumatic brain injury in his last outing versus Geoff Neal.
Weekly Recap:
Brandan Swept the Contender card picks!
On another Contender note, we will be putting out Contender content (breakdowns and picks) on the Patreon (Santino), and Brandan and Big Bird (Pierce) will be recording a Youtube video covering Contender for the public.

This Week’s Undercard Fight of the Week
UFC Vegas: AJ Dobson (+120) vs Tafon Nchuckwi (-145)
Both guys aren’t bad. Their records show otherwise, but they both got to the UFC probably a few fights too early for their own good.
Tafon likes to inch forward with that tall stance and guard and press his way into the pocket where he fires big body shots and then comes upstairs. He will also finish with high kicks as people move away from a firefight. Good clinch and good fight IQ relative to his experience. Low volume. And likes to get hit too much.
Dobson is fast and athletic. Clean, straight punches down the middle. Great head movement and natural movement. Fires off of the clinch well too. He seems like he’s getting better every fight. His takedown defense against Malkoun was solid until he started to get tired, but that was after 10+ TD attempts. Cardio looked good against Petrosyan, but a bit too low volume for the workload Petrosyan put out.
The fight; the bet: I lean Dobson on this one. Not by a huge margin, and Tafon’s pressure could panic AJ a bit, but he’s fast, athletic, has a good chin, and without a ton of wrestling, shouldn’t have any cardio issues. I think he wins as I think his speed and movement will look good against the judges, and Tafon can get hit with fast things down the middle (Ulberg, Merz). I wouldn’t bet the house, and I think the over 1.5/2.5 is probably a decent bet here.
Landmine of the week
I don’t know if I’d say this is a traditional landmine, but I wouldn’t go insane on Marcus Mcghee. He’s very talented, but Buys can wrestle, and Mcghee’s weakest area is wrestling. That said, I think Mcghee either wins by ko/tko, or Buys wins by sub.
